About
The Sarovar Observatory Portal is a service developed as a part of a collaboration between the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) to monitor and track the Surface Water Area of ponds (Sarovar) created or renovated under the Amrit Sarovar Project, a nationwide initiative to enhance water conservation and management in rural areas. Using satellite technology and machine learning, the portal provides a robust platform for monthly average surface area, enabling policymakers and stakeholders to make informed decisions.
